Cats

I don't like cats. Never have. I am allergic.
Now I have two. I was the only seamstress on the planet without a helper to lie around on my fabric.
However, in a brief tribute to my new best friends (yeah, no kidding), I should explain that I have no intention of becoming the nutty cat lady. Even if I can't type without the girl-cat (Chief Joseph) walking in front of me and therefore causing more mistakes than not. She just needs to be petted... again. After all, she was only petted ten minutes ago... three minutes before boy-cat (Karl-Heinz) was.
In an effort to show their displeasure when I try to go to bed at night, they shred anything left out. Is this a call for more toys? What can they possibly want that they can't steal from the Boy? And besides that, any toys I do buy are hidden away by the small child.
I just can't win.

Christmas

Well, off we go... driving to Tulsa for the holiday. Since I never leave the house, Christmas rather appeared suddenly. I knew it was coming, but wasn't really prepared for its arrival.
There was a bitter fight over whether or not the Boy might accompany us, for of course we did want him. Nevertheless, it wasn't, technically, our year... as of 5 pm on Thursday. What a surprise... and not a good one.
However, he will be tagging on, and his Oma will be thrilled to see him. I'm sure he will have plenty of gifts...
Speaking of Oma, my mother seems to have gotten herself a tattoo. My mother. Who used to really scorn that sort of adornment - earrings, hair dye, tattoos.... and now sports all three. She also rides a motorcycle, has moved (with my father, of course) into a new house, and has a grand new social life.
And all I can say is that I'm rather envious. I want it, too. Still. Good for her.

Procrastination

Things I am Procrastinating:
1. Writing thank-you cards for the wedding.
2. Cleaning up the kitchen.
3. Folding clothes.
4. Getting dressed.
5. Standing up...

This is ridiculous.
I need a desk.
