Tonight was installment One of Knitting Class.
It was really fun.
I took it for a couple of reasons: I want to teach the Boy how to knit, because it is a useful occupation; and because I kinda wanted to know myself. It's portable, and it isn't as likely to get dirty as quickly as a white linen embroidery project. Unfortunately, this means the purchase of a basket for my project table to the right of the sofa, so it can be stuffed underneath.
So I have a pinky-orange yarn, and size no. 9 needles, and I can now knit, purl, and cast-off. Not too bad for two hours' work, but I still need lots of practice so that things even out.
Who will be the recipient of my lumpy homework?
