We finally managed to get round to going on our honeymoon last week-end, and came home last night. We went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, which is a little historical Victorian place with plenty of awesome shopping. The whole place is run by hippies, and there are bed and breakfast inns everywhere. We stayed here. There are amazing views and spas that rely on the springs.
We left OKC and went to Tulsa, leaving the Boy with my parents. Saturday morning, we left for Eureka Springs... and ended up in Joplin. Oops. Thing is, we didn't even realise we were headed for the wrong border. I didn't have any sort of compass (who drives with a compass, anyway?) and the day was overcast.
So instead of arriving at about 1pm, as planned, it was quite close to 3pm. On the way there, we passed an enormous easter bunny and spent some time in a Napa parts store in Jane, Missouri, population 14, where they apparently had excellent cell phone reception and drank lattes.
The weekend culminated in renting a U-Haul to bring back furniture and we all fell exhausted into bed at about 11 o'clock.
Well, at least it was fun.
