Um, what?
Last month, Kate Penland and her nineteen-month-old son, Garren boarded a Continental Express flight from Georgia to Oklahoma. The baby, being at that age, persisted in saying, "bye bye, plane"; the air hostess objected, and informed Ms. Penland that it was no longer funny, and said that "...you need to shut your baby up". Upon being asked if she could truly mean that, the hostess replied, "you know, it's called baby Benadryl".
When Ms. Penwell replied that should would no drug her child and that the woman should have a pleasant flight (go sarcasm!), the air hostess announced that the plane would be turning back, despite other passengers' defending the child and his mother.
Ms. Penwell was later informed that the airline employee had told the pilot that she had been threatened, an action that had apparently never taken place. A fellow passenger told WSB-TV in Atlanta that none of the other passengers had been bothered by Garren, and that the air hostess had never been threatened.
Read the same story here.
Do you think that woman still has her job?
I do believe that Ms. Penwell will shortly find the inconvenience has proved worth her trouble, as I expect that Continental Express will be settling this out of court to avoid publicity.
I can't help laughing (derisively). It's so stupid.

FWIW, Benadryl can often make kids even more hyper. I gave it to my DD one time after she got stung by a bee and her arm started swelling up. I was expecting it to make her drowsy but instead it was as if I'd given her an espresso, yikes!
OMG, I read that story just now...what an idiot. What happened to customer service? Amazing.
