Garrison Keillor suggests that a sign be placed strategically on President Bush's desk, reading "Try Much Harder".I think this might be an exercise in futility, but it is worth a laugh. Every day, I learn that my unsophisticated, simple fantasy of a world is not the same world that everyone else lives in. I choose to carry on in my own way, exceptional though it may be - the place I live in is much kinder and hasn't any stupid people in it - and I am the queen.
Surrounding myself with like-minded people makes life easier to manage, of course. It's not that I mind a nice debate; what I am truly threatened by (on my cranky days) is the loud-voiced individual who goes on and on about something he or she doesn't understand. Other times it just makes me giggle.
This is why Mr. Keillor is a figure whom I admire. My opinions do not match his in every way. I do, however, believe that he is a talented individual worth emulating.
*A Prairie Home Companion is Mr. Keillor's creation.

Yes, he's a very talented individual whom I love to listen to when I get the chance. I'd love to put away a few Guinness with him sometime. Now, with that having been stated, I'd also like to add that he's a full fledged socialist who'd give away my income to everyone who needs anything (but keep his as liberalism seems to apply to everyone but the liberals).
